From the In My Hands Series

In My Hands launches Sherri Ehrlich’s new In My Hands Series, exploring humanity, social responsibility, hope, justice and the world we place in the hands of future generations.

Layering contemporary figures with historical and spiritual imagery, architecture, music and unexpected touches of whimsy, Ehrlich creates a visual conversation that moves between past, present and future. At the heart of the composition, a child holds the words “My Future Is in Your Hands,” while the commanding phrase “Toppling Injustice” gives the work its social urgency.

Acrylic, ink, collage, and luminous passages of gold and copper leaf create a richly textured surface filled with discoveries. Despite its serious undertones, the work remains colorful, spirited and ultimately hopeful—a call to recognize both our individual and collective power to shape what comes next.
