Underwater Dream is a richly layered diptych that invites the viewer into an imagined world somewhere between earth, water, memory, and dream. Across the two canvases, deep mossy greens, luminous turquoise, ochre, rust, black, and flashes of brilliant yellow intermingle in a dense, atmospheric landscape.

Expressive brushwork, gestural ink, scratched surfaces, spontaneous markings, and delicate linear details create a sense of movement—as though fragments are floating, drifting, and continually transforming beneath the surface. Organic shapes emerge and disappear, allowing the eye to discover something new with every viewing.

Created as part of Sherri Ehrlich’s Dreams in Flight series, Underwater Dream explores the freedom of the subconscious and the beauty of allowing imagery to evolve intuitively. The two paintings speak individually yet become more powerful together, creating a visual conversation that feels mysterious, energetic, and alive.
